There is some calculation surrounding the claims of „self-driving” and robot taxis. Elon is currently in the middle of a lawsuit over his „financially secure” tweets, and he is a man who has pushed the boundaries of truth. This week, Consumer Reports ranked Tesla’s driver assistance features #7 among automakers, and the competition certainly doesn’t call them „self-driving.” There is some truth to that announcement, and I don’t think adding „beta” to the end of it will change that. But if I were Tesla, I’d argue that regulators ignored it until it meant accepting the legitimacy of the strategy. Anyway, this market no longer cares about reality or fundamentals, it cares about movement and options. Tesla stock has risen 11% in consecutive days.
