Russian exporters are committed to their obligations to export agricultural products, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday.

„We reaffirmed the commitment of Russian exporters of grain products to the fulfillment of all their obligations,” he said at a press conference in Cairo following talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri.

„We discussed specific parameters of interaction in this area, agreed on further contacts between the relevant ministries, and we have a common understanding of the causes of the grain crisis,” Lavrov said. „These reasons are rooted in other years that preceded today.”

Lavrov is on a working visit to Egypt. As previously reported in the Russian Foreign Ministry, Egypt will be the first country of the minister’s working visit to Africa: from July 24 to 27, Lavrov will also visit Ethiopia, Uganda and the Republic of the Congo.
