Half of the systemically important banks did not have time to connect to the SBPey service within the period specified by the Central Bank, follows from the information on the website of the Fast Payment System (FPS).

In total, 118 banks connected to the service. Of the 13 systemically important banks, Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank, Sberbank, Otkritie Bank, Rosbank, Tinkoff Bank and Raiffeisenbank have not joined the SBP yet.

„We are not going to extend the connection time ( to SBPey – IF) . We believe that, given the additional time, market participants had the opportunity to plan time and resources for the implementation of this service,” the press service of the Central Bank told Interfax.

In April, the regulator pushed back the deadlines for the mandatory connection of banks to the SBPey mobile application by three months (until July 1). Prior to this, it was assumed that credit institutions would provide customers with access to SBPey before April 1.

SBPey is a mobile application for paying for goods and services in stores using all payment methods supported in SBP (QR code, button on the site, etc.). SBPay does not use bank card data – all payments are made from the bank account of the application user. It is planned that soon the possibility of payment based on NFC technology will be massively available in the application.
